Fortnite - things for parents to be aware of

Recently, there has been an increase in discussion around school about the online game 'Fortnite'. To help both school staff and parents be more aware of the possible issues surrounding this game, staff have been advised to share the link below with parents. The link is to an excellent article that breaks down the possible problems your child might face when playing this game and offers advice on how to ensure they can enjoy the game safely:

Rosemary Cuttings

In Science, we had a lot of fun today making cuttings from rosemary plants which are from our school grounds. The children are now responsible for remembering to change the water every 2 days making sure it is room temperature so it doesn’t ‘shock’ the cuttings and fresh to prevent the plants from rotting. Hopefully, we will be able to replant them in 4 to 8 weeks.

Dashing suspense sentences

Today, the children have examined a picture named ‘The Ghostly Shadow’. From this, some amazing sentences have been composed which contain both suspense and dashes. Watch if you dare….

Dissecting flowering plants

Today, the children were given the challenge to dissect a lily and label the different female and male parts of the flowering plant on Skitch. All children increased their knowledge and understanding and the classroom smelt beautiful.

Today, Y5C was transformed into a balloon rocket launch pad. The children showed great resilience when working out how to make the balloon move. They then thought of their own variables to change in order to carry out a fair investigation.

May the Force be with you.

Before breaking up for summer, Miss Colman was extremely impressed with the art work her class produced. We hope you enjoy looking at some of our expertly drawn portraits.
