Greenside sports afternoon
Solids, Liquids and gases

Y4R had fun exploring how particles in different states of matter move inside a space. They came up with their own routine to show this.

This just in!

BREAKING NEWS! another dinosaur bone has been discovered at Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary by non other than Mrs Joyce on Tuesday. Due to technical difficulties the report has been delayed but Y4R are bringing the story to you now with an interview from a local dinosaur expert! During filming there were some faults with the camera so please forgive the camera man.

Tina the T-Rex

During our 'Dino Day' we had a very surprising visitor that the children got to see. Luckily for the children the visitor already had her breakfast!

Dinosaur Dig!

Today, Y4R Had the chance to become Paleontologists! Our visitor Jonny came in to tell us all about the dinosaur fossils that were discovered on our school field. We then helped our visitor uncover new dinosaur fossils, and find out lots of information about them. I think it is safe to say we had a DINOmite time!

Art Super Learning Day

Just look at one of our finished pieces.

Art Super Learning Day

Last week Y4R made some fantastic pieces of art during Art Super Learning Day on Friday. They first made an Athenian and Spartan battle come to life by making a Thaumatrope. As well as this, the class also designed their own mythical creatures and then made them out of Plasticine, some of which were very creative! See for yourself.

Greek Pottery

Y4R had a fantastic afternoon with Mrs Clegg making Greek pottery! Mrs Clegg was very impressed with the care and attention the children gave their pots. As you can see, they were happy with their results.

Angle Adventure

This week Y4R have been looking at different angles. They have used angle eaters to find right angles all around the classroom! Some of the discoveries were very surprising.

Ancient Greek Learning Day

Year 3 and 4 were treated to a fantastic day of Ancient Greek learning courtesy of our Athenian visitor called Poli. The day started with a workshop about Ancient Greek society. The children were shocked to hear about life as a Spartan for both boys and girls, and the contrasting life of an Athenian. The children got to vote in an election because the Greeks invented democracy. After break, the children rotated around workshops that taught them all about the Ancient Greekā€™s inventions, military tactics and advances in maths. The puzzle task was particularly challenging but the children persevered well to solve it. After lunch, the children marched into the hall with their shields and helmets and met a real Hoplite soldier. Some children even got to hold his shield and spear! Finally, the children were split into city tribes for an Olympic Games. They had a go at javelin and discus, before champions were elected to represent their city. Little did they know, they would have to sing! However, the children who sang did a great job and it was a great way to end a fantastic day.

Ancient Greek Shields

Y4R made some fantastic Greek shields during our DT Super Learning Day! I'm sure you'll agree some of the designs would strike fear in an enemy's heart!

Awful Auntie Interviews

Y4R really got into the roles of Aunt Alberta and her interviewer as she was interviewed for Twit-woo magazine. Some of the expressions are quite scary indeed!

Science - Understanding the Digestive System

Y4B had great fun this afternoon with Mr Richardson as they were understanding how our digestion works. A very practical lesson which involved using a range of resources to represent our digestion. Some of these included: toothpasts tube oesophagus, a plastic bag stomach, small intestine tights, and coca-cola digestive juices and enzymes ...
