DT Super Learning Day

Today, we made some fantastic animal puppets. We began the day by designing them and thinking about the materials we would need to make them. We spent a long time drawing our designs on templates and sticking them on the cups. We then had to use our cutting and joining skills to attach hands, legs, string and lolly sticks. It was tricky at times but we really tried to persevere! At the end of the day, we thought about what went well and things we would change.

Science Super Learning Day

We have had a fantastic day of discovery today! This morning, we set up a 'Walking Water' experiment and watched water travel from one cup to another via a tissue pathway. We used string and teamwork to answer the question 'Is my height the same as my arm span?'. We sprinkled "magic powder" on some ice cubes and observed what happened when we poured different liquids onto it. (The best was the vinegar!). We made a raincloud in a cup using shaving foam and blue food colouring. We distorted pictures we drew by sticking them on a cup and filling it with water. We watched sugar cube towers changing colour and made some brilliant predictions and observations. What a busy day!

PSHE and C Super Learning Day

This afternoon we all made a very special new friend. We had a great time naming our bears and giving them personalities. We thought about what made our bears similar and different and all decided that despite their differences, they could all still be friends! We thought a lot about doing the right thing and being a kind and helpful person (or bear!) and the types of jobs which help our community. Miss Barnsley wonders how many bears mysteriously disappeared by the time they left school!

PSHE and C Super Learning Day
