Children enjoy learning through play, and often talk about their learning as play. Learning in Reception is through real, meaningful experiences, which provide inspiration, challenge and ideas for future learning. Self- initiated play and adult led and directed learning, supports children in further developing areas of interest and ensures access to a wide range of opportunities.  We look forward to sharing all of this with you, in part, through this class page.

Sharing is Caring!

on our PSHE super learning day we learnt about being a good friend and looking after each other. Children were given a jelly bear at the start of the day. The children named their bear, gave them a personality and were put in charge of taking care of them. Children made homes, wrote letters, read stories and took their role as carers very seriously. They worked hard at being a good friend. We also had some sharing friend gingerbread men. Children snapped off a gingerbread man and shared it with a friend telling them something they liked about them. The words the children said were lovely. We really are a kind caring class!

Children in Reception led their own learning outside stemmed from an adult led focus about how many conkers they could catch in the bucket. Children used the outdoor 10's frames to record their results. Children then decided to build Mobolo cars and race them down the ramps. Children were challenged if they could see how fast the cars go. They experimented with the length of the ramp, height of the ramp and even how many wheels the cars had. They decided to draw a line on the floor to measure how far they can go. Brilliant learning boys!
