Firefighters!

We had a visit from more real life superheroes today, when the fire engine and some firefighters came to our school. One firefighter used to do his job a long time ago and his uniform was very different to the new ones! We had lots of fun finding out about how the different parts of the engine worked and what all the apparatus was used for.

Balance Ability

This week Reception children have had some balance bike training. They had great fun learning how to balance with their bodies as well as on the bikes. As well as playing a traffic light game, the children had a chance to glide along on the bikes like During the session, the children really improved their balance bike skills and were very proud of their achievements.

We are scientists.

We have been enjoying doing some science experiments this week. We predicted what we thought would happen to the tubes of water, the observed them and finally the next day, wrote down the results. Some of us predicted the tubes would explode, but luckily they didn't!

Cities around the world focus week

We have been learning all about Bradford! We enjoyed playing in our Indian Restaurant, as well as learning how Bradford was the first city in England to give children free school meals. We had a go at designing our own school meals! We had great fun performing in our very own Alhambra theatre and building our own theatres using 3D shapes. We even pretended to go to the shops and paid for our shopping with pennies.
